Sample Storage Tracking
Overview
The system is designed to track where samples are stored, when a sample should be disposed of, and if and when a sample has been disposed.
All fields related to this feature are in table Sample. Date & Time is copied from Date_Started if the field is empty. The Proposed_Disposal_Date is calculated based on Sample_Date_&_Time and Storage_Period.
The list of Sample Storage Locations is located in INPUT | Lists | Sample Storage.
Queries have been developed, INPUT>Tools>Queries to allow users to track the sample storage and disposal.
Existing queries are listed below:

SAMPLE STORAGE - IN STORAGE NOW | Samples in storage now (with storage location and no disposal date) |
SAMPLE STORAGE - SAMPLES AT A LOCATION | Samples ever stored in a location (current and disposed of). This uses a like query, hence you can enter a to get everything on the 'a' shelves. |
SAMPLE STORAGE - SAMPLES DUE FOR DISPOSAL | Samples due for disposal in a date range. Use 01/May/2006 date format to be sure of the answer. |
SAMPLE STORAGE - SAMPLES WITH NO STORAGE DATA | Samples with no storage data |
