Aggregate Lab Testing

LA Abrasion

Supported Test Methods

Standard

Description

ASTM C131-06

Resistance to degradation of small-size coarse aggregate by abrasion and impact in Los-Angeles machine

BS EN 1097-2:1998:5

Determination of resistance to Fragmentation by the Los Angeles Test Method

Input

Lab-Aggregates | LA Abrasion

To calculate the Los Angeles Abrasion, you must first select the standard from the Test_Method field on the LA_Abrasion table that the specimen is being tested against.

Enter the test data and when you change the row or select save, the result will be displayed in the calculated fields

Output

  • Graphic Text Report | L A LA ABRASION

Magnesium / Sodium Sulphate Soundness

Supported Test Methods

Standard

Description

ASTM C 88-05

Soundness of aggregates by use of sodium sulphate or magnesium sulphate

BS812-121:1989

Determination of soundness (MgSO4)

Input

Lab-Aggregates | Soundness, and Soundness Cycles

To calculate the Soundness, you must first select the standard from the Test_Method field on the Soundness table that the specimen is being tested against. Once selected, click Save and the necessary data entry fields will be automatically highlighted to assist you in entering the relevant data for the selected test method.

Enter the test data in the data entry fields in to the lower table and click Save, Ctrl+S or change table to initiate the calculation. The values will be calculated automatically and the result will be displayed in the calculated fields.

The fields Maximum_Size, Minimum_Sieve and Group_with_Coarser are pre-populated from library table DG_AGG_SOUNDNESS_PREPOP.

Grading_of_original_sample field is pre-populated from the sieve table where a sieve test exists for the same specimen.
