Use Datgel license off your company network

Problem

You need to use the DGD Tool in the field on a laptop or tablet, but you need to be connected to the network license key hosted somewhere on your company network.

Solution

The solution is the activate a software key license, which is a one off process and works for all users of that PC.  The disadvantage is that now your DGD Tool network license will not limit the number of PCs that have gINT open, so you may now overuse your Bentley license and Datgel DGD Tool license. Datgel is happy to do this if your company has 1 to 1 with gINT license type and you have provided Datgel with a login to your Bentley Site, so we can run reports and check the PC is used by your company.

Step-by-step guide

Email support@datgel.com explaining you need, and request a software key serial number.

If you previously validated a hardware key license on a PC, you can open "C:\ProgramData\Datgel\LicenseSchemeConfig.cfg.XML" in a text editor, and delete the text in the following code block, and save. Then activate the software key license.
