Installation of gINT
I need to install gINT on PC. What is the procedure?
Step-by-step guide
We will assume you have a normal commercial select server license for gINT.
Download the current recommended release of gINT 10 and gINT Civil Tools from http://select.bentley.com/FulfillmentCenter and log-in using your Bentley Select Username and password, for detailed instructions see How to download gINT from Bentley Website. If you hold a license for gINT Pro, then download gINT Civil Tools Professional (gct########en.exe), or if you have a license for gINT Pro Plus download gINT Civil Tools Pro Plus (gctp########en.exe). If you have a license for gINT Logs, do not download gINT Civil Tools.
- Install gINT.
- Ensure you are logged in as a local administrator, or have local administrator credentials ready to use. Run the file gint########en.exe.
- When the Custom Setup install wizard form appears, generally you should set "gINT Standard User Files" to "Entire feature will be unavailable". This will eliminate the confusion caused by accidentally opening a standard library or data template instead of your company's existing custom files that are probably stored on a file server. If your company is new to gINT and didn't buy the DGD Tool, select the localized gINT files closes to your needs, or contact Datgel to buy the DGD Tool.
- Select the gINT product you are licensed for (Logs, Professional or Professional Plus). If you pick the wrong gINT product, you will get QTL invoices for the excess use!
- Run the relevant bat file described in section 4 of this page.
- Run gINT by double-clicking on the desktop shortcut.
- Open the Library, be it a company-specific file such as “<your company name> #.## lib.glb”, or open a standard library located in "C:\Users\Public\Documents\Bentley\gINT\libraries"
- Open the project, be it a company-specific file such as “<your company name> #.##.gpj", or standard project in "C:\Users\Public\Documents\Bentley\gINT\PROJECTS"
- If the gINT license activation wizard doesn't show automatically, then select Help > Activation Wizard...
- Select the appropriate server configuration (hosted [most common], node locked, or deployed) and provide your Site Activation Key. If your site has a Custom Activation Group configured, then the primary key is probably blocked and you need to use the Custom Activation Group key (starting with VS-....).
- Unless you wish to check out a license, just click Next on the check out screen. If unsure, do not check out a license.
- Click Finish on the last screen, and wait for the license tool to connect to Bentley's web-server - this can take longer than 10 seconds.
- gINT will have started while you were doing this.
- Exit gINT
- Open gINT and look in the Help > About gINT menu item. It should now show an active license.
- You can change gINT product levels by selecting the other level from the Help menu, e.g. Help > Launch gINT Logs.
- Set the System properties up, see the DGD Tool user guide.
- If you hold a license for gINT Pro or gINT Pro Plus, run the gINT Civil Tools Installer, and activate the license in a similar way. Also, install this component
https://cdn.datgel.com/outgoing/AccessDatabaseEngine_X64.exe, if you have problems installing see.
All Bentley software users must be logged in to the Connection Client when running Bentley applications or cloud services. Follow the steps in Register users for gINT Connection Client (Site Administrator) article to register your users.
