Assigning a printer to reports after receiving a new library
When a new library file is issued, you will need to assign the default printer to each of the different reports. If the correct page size is not applied when a report is exported to pdf only a small area in the bottom left will be displayed.
A4 and A3 reports
- Select REPORT DESIGN | Logs
- Select File > Set Printer for Reports...
- Select your default A3 / A4 printer
- Select Mark all and then select OK.
- Select OK.
A0, A1, A2 and A3LE reports
You will need a plotter printer installed on your pc, this can be a real printer or if need be set up just a dummy printer.
Set Up a Dummy PDF Printer
- Install Nitro PDF
- Using Nitro PDF Creator
- Go to Printing Preferences for this printer, and Pages tab create Custom Forms.

Configure custom pages for real printer
On a real printer set up the following custom pages
- A3E - w 297, h 630 mm
- A3EE - w 297, h 840 mm
- A1E - w 594, h 1682 mm
- A1E0.5 - w 594, h 1262 mm
Assign Printer to reports
- Select REPORT DESIGN | Logs
- Select File > Set Printer for Reports...
- Select the plotter printer from the list
- Select the any fence and map reports that are A0, A1, A2 and A3LE sized, and then select OK
- Select OK
Review report design
You should now go to report design and review:
- The page outline looks correct, and is outside the entities that should be on the page
- Correct page size is in use
- Appropriate margins are applied
You could then set up a Datgel Output Tool configuration to test the page layouts of all reports are correct.
