Set custom default values

Each time I make a new project I need to set many of the same values in Project Parameters and other tables.  Can the values I need be there by default?

Field default values

Set default values in the project database and publish a data template:

  1. Open the project you will use as your master file.
  2. Go to a field, set the value you want. Then right click, select field properties, and set the default value, click OK.
  3. Do step 2 for other fields.
  4. Select Tools > Make Data Template, and save a new file. Use this data template to make new projects.

Correspondence file

A second approach is to set values during import.  This is done by editing a import correspondence file (*.gci).  

  1. open the gci file in a text editor, such as Notepad++
  2. Set a value like this, with three double quotes
    Type,"""CPT"""
